For this year’s World Series, football team and fans may finally see the results of a long-awaited planning change.
If the group tournament round ends quick, MLB announced it might walk the Fall Classic up by three times. According to the news, which was posted on social media, if both the American League and National League Championship Series close no later than Saturday, Oct. 19, the World Series did begin on Oct. 22, with a prospective Game 7 taking place on Oct. 30.
A possible Game 7 on Saturday, November 2 that would pit college football games against one another and have an impact on the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff is currently scheduled for October 25.
Groups have had to endure long layoffs following their LCS victories, but they were able to wait until the World Series to begin. The Colorado Rockies, who lost four right game to the Boston Red Sox in the fall of 2007, would serve as the most notable instance after a 10-day NLCS and World Series break. In order to advance to the postseason, the Rockies defeated their two NL postseason series by winning 14 of their previous 15 regular-season game and a tiebreaker.
The groups that will compete in this year’s Series are pleasant to have this new freedom. It’s also a cause for celebration over at Fox, the World Series journalist.
Other than the 2016 win for the Chicago Cubs, the series has had a declining viewers for years, so it might be good to keep things moving. Moreover, the Week 10 primetime college football schedule has not yet been decided because of the absence of official start times for several Power Five games. If there is a possible Game 7 on November 2, there might be a lot of eyeball opposition there.
