The WNBA’s 14th company may be owned by businessman Larry Tanenbaum’s Kilmer Sports Inc. and will officially begin play in the 2026 time.

Toronto has been awarded the WNBA’s 14th company, according to CBC Sports, and the staff will start play in the 2026 season.
Larry Tanenbaum’s Kilmer Sports Inc., a businessman, will own the company. The 79- yr- older is a majority owner of Maple Leafs Sports &, Entertainment, which owns various sports franchises including the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, MLS ‘ Toronto FC, the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts and the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. The Maple Leafs and Raptors ‘ home games are also a part ofMLSE’s ownership of Scotiabank Arena.
The franchise’s development charge for Toronto is not currently known. No news report is available at this time, despite a WNBA spokeswoman saying in a statement on Friday morning that we are continuing to include fruitful conversations with curious possession groups in a number of markets. A remark demand was not received by Kilmer Sports.
The rights group for the WNBA’s Bay Area development company, which kicks off in 2025, agreed to pay a report$ 50 million to the Golden State Warriors.
