Texas A&amp, M University agreed to spend$ 160, 000 to be the primary sponsor of Stewart-Haas cars at two NASCAR races, a marketing partnership that the school called “novel” during its original announcement.
The agreement, a version of which Sportico obtained via available data requests, was signed by both factors in early October. For a last value of no more than$ 160, 000, Stewart-Haas agreed to contest thrice with Texas A&amp, M-branded decals, plus a handful of other advertising, promotional and seat objectives.
Chase Briscoe ran his No. 14 vehicle with a red Texas A&amp, M cover in Las Vegas on Oct. 20, and his partner Josh Berry drove his No. 4 vehicle with a red and colour wrap at this past season’s season-ending competition in Phoenix. NBC televised both contests. Berry even wore a Texas A&amp, M-branded firesuit.

Representatives for the team and the school, which Tony Stewart and Gene Haas co-own, did n’t respond to emails asking for feedback on the final itemized invoice.
In addition to the advertising on the trucks and drivers, Stewart-Haas agreed to provide the school with a handful of other advantages, according to the deal. They include a minimum of four” Texas A&amp, M-specific” social media posts during culture vacation, and a guarantee to mark the school’s gatherings in all race-related content.
On Nov. 5, as an example, the group tweeted a picture of Berry’s vehicle, saying the roundel was “honoring our nation’s defense and]Texas A&amp, M’s ] commitment to support servicemen”. Berry mentioned the partnership in a promotional video that the university posted to YouTube, and the school’s official announcement of the partnership also criticized its military ties ( the school’s president is a retired four-star general ) and its current enrollment of nearly 1,300 students. At the end of the video, in which he is wearing an A&amp, M helmet, he salutes” the fighting Texas Aggies”.

Texas A&amp, M even received access to 20 pleasant “VIP full-access certificates” to each competition, a race-day journey for school guests at each competition and a race-day meet with each vehicle. Those conferences, the deal says, may be 10 minutes in duration and include video operation.
Texas A&amp, M is not the first school to promote via NASCAR cars—Penn State, Auburn, Maryland and Virginia Tech are among the many colleges who have done related. NASCAR also has its own branding deals with institutions, including one signed in 2022 with Alabama. Texas A&amp, M’s administrative costs in 2022-23 were$ 2.3 billion, according to Sportico’s college funding collection.
Briscoe finished 26th in his Texas A&amp, M vehicles on Oct. 20, Berry finished 24th in his variant three weeks later.
