Stewart- Haas Racing, the NASCAR crew that is co-owned by racing legends Tony Stewart and Gene Haas, the co-founder of Haas Automation Inc., announced it would shut down its doors at the end of the year.
While the team did not explicitly level to why it is ceasing activities, Stewart and Haas released a joint declaration on X ( previously Twitter ) describing the sport as “labor- extensive” and “humbling”.
The affirmation stated that” the commitment required to extract maximum performance while providing sustainability is very difficult.” We’ve reached the point where we need to pass the torch in our individual personal and professional lives.
The staff is expected to sell its four laws. A team’s running a single car costs roughly$ 10 million, and the charter system requires teams to rely on sponsorships to cover costs.
The Stewart-Haas group started with two cars, but they quickly added six, four of which are NASCAR Cup Series. Chase Briscoe, now 16th in the NASCAR status, is the player’s highest- ranked vehicle. Since August 2022, the group has not won at the Cup levels.
Haas has been racing NASCAR team since the 2003 season, and Stewart-Haas started when the Hall of Famer joined him in 2008. In the group’s primary season on the trail in 2009, Stewart posted four successes, with Ryan Newman being the other Haas vehicle. Stewart won the team’s second NASCAR Cup subject in 2011 with the win.
In their first season with Stewart-Haas, personnel chief Rodney Childers and Kevin Harvick won a NASCAR Cup.
