Ryan Smith, owner of Utah Jazz, has asked the National Hockey League to begin a formal expansion process with the intention of bringing an organization to Salt Lake City through his company Smith Entertainment Group ( SEG). The NHL is expected to flourish in Utah in the near future, and SEG is fully committed to making this happen.
