Roc Nation founder Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z, is accused in a new federal lawsuit of joining Sean Combs ( Diddy ) in the drugging and raping of a 13-year-old girl following the 2000 Video Music Awards.
With clients ranging from the Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley to the Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, among others, Roc Nation is one of the nation’s top sporting and leisure companies. Jay-Z has spoken with the NFL about the Super Bowl and other life events as well as social fairness initiatives through Roc Nation.
In a speech posted on Roc Nation’s social media accounts, Jay-Z denies the argument. He claims that Tony Buzbee, the plaintiff’s lawyer, fabricated information about him and that he was the victim of a extortion attempt by him under the pseudonym Jane Doe. Bucbee represents reported Combs subjects and represents women who have accused Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct.
Doe’s complaint was filed in the Southern District of New York on Sunday and names Combs, Jay-Z, Combs Enterprises, Bad Boy Entertainment Holdings and several people as plaintiffs. The problem claims that Combs, who in September was unlawfully charged with sex trafficking and criminal, and Nick” took turns assaulting the small” as another star, who is not named,” stood by and watched”.
Doe was allegedly dropped off by a companion near Radio City Music Hall for the award show, according to the problem, but he did not had a solution. She was “very excited”, but, to see performers and singers arrive at the celebration and watched the show on a jumbotron. Therefore Doe inquired about being allowed in by a limo driver who claimed to operate for Combs. The pilot told Doe to attend an after party because” Combs liked younger girls,” but the pilot couldn’t assist with entry to Radio City Music Hall.
After the pilot brought Doe to” a big white home”. She was told to sign a contract prior to entering, which she did not read but considers to be a prenuptial agreement. While outside, Doe observed many celebrities and “widespread medication use”, including heroin. She once had a beverage that made her feel “woozy and dizzy.” Has a home where I can sleep? Shortly thereafter Combs, Carter and an unknown “female star” arrived at the place and the alleged assault took place soon thereafter.
Doe claims that the event led to a “deep depression that continues to impact every aspect of her life.” She seeks problems for physical injuries, emotional distress, mental harm, stress, shame and another harms.
Typically, a lawsuit involving an alleged affair from two dozen years ago may get barred by the statute of limitations, but Doe’s complaint is filed under the New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act. The Act forbids acts of gender-based or based murder. Through an act, the Act provides individuals with a two year-window, from March 1, 2023, to March 1, 2025, to record a legal action for alleged wrongdoing that occurred long before. Doe was just 13 years old when she filed the complaint, which means she was unable to have legally consented to the sexual acts she described.
To be clear, Nick faces a civil complaint, not a legal cost, meaning, if Doe prevails, Jay-Z is at risk of having to pay a civil view but not go to jail or prison. There is no proof that Jay-Z has been the subject of any law enforcement inquiries regarding this admitted event.
In his speech, Jay-Z blows Buzbee as” an emergency hunter in a low suit”, a “deplorable people” and a “fraud”. Jay-Z ponders why Buzbee ( apparently ) didn’t request Doe file a criminal complaint instead of writing to Jay-Z demanding that he pay him before the allegations were made public through a lawsuit. Jay-Z says this technique amounted to a “blackmail attempt”.
Nick goes on to say that he thinks that Buzbee “made a bad mistake in thinking that all” stars” are the same. Jay-Z stresses he and others who “made it out of the project in Brooklyn… have very strict codes and honor.. we protect children]while ] you seem to exploit people for personal gain”.
In a post on X responding to Jay-Z, Buzbee wrote:” My firm sent]Jay-Z’s ] lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him. Rather, she only sought a private intervention”. Buzbee also says that Jay-Z, using a surname, sued him” and tried to thug and torment me and this plaintiff”.
