PFL Signs Dubai Deal for Multiple MMA Fights in United Arab Emirates

In order to bring regular professional mixed martial arts fights to the United Arab Emirates, the Professional Fighters League has signed a multiyear deal with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism ( DET ) and Dubai Sports Council ( DSC ).

In 2023, the PFL sold a minority ownership stake in the company to SRJ Sports Investments, the sports-focused fund launched weeks earlier by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund ( PIF ). SRJ, pronounced” surge”, invested more than$ 100 million into PFL, it was the first investment by SRJ.
In 2024, PFL held five matches in Saudi Arabia, including Francis Ngannou’s first-ever MMA appearance in nearly three years. Heavy champion Tyson Fury and Ngannou, who had signed with PFL in May, squared off in Saudi Arabia next year.
In 2023, PFL launched its European division, followed by a Middle East and North Africa ( MENA ) division this year. Ngannou will lead the new club until 2025 when PFL Africa debuts. According to Murray, Australia would be the next category to start with a 2026 goal. Donn Davis, the PFL’s founder and chairman, envisions a Champions League-style gathering of the region’s top scorers.
In late 2023, PFL purchased Bellator from Paramount Global to securely demonstrate its status as the No. 2 MMA producer after UFC. It increased this year’s range from 22 to 27 and has 2025 plans to add 40. PFL doubled revenue in 2024 to more than$ 100 million, according to Davis. More than half of the business is done outside the United States.
