In response to an epidemic of wildfires in Southern California this week, the NFL is moving a playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings to Arizona, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The NFL made the announcement on Thursday night, stating that it had “in conversation with public officials, the participating leagues, and the NFLPA” and that it had made the decision in the interest of public health.
The flames, in addition to the disaster caused to home, are filling the air around Los Angeles with dust, which has degraded native air value.
The Rams, who won the NFC West despite not having the division title in its first year, were scheduled to play the Vikings at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Monday evening for a first-round postseason game. Otherwise, the game will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., the typical house of the Arizona Cardinals.

The sport is also scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN. For Rams season ticket holders who purchased cards on Friday at 1 p.m. ET, and 2 days later for the general public, tickets will go on sale.
The NFL stated on Wednesday that it was monitoring the situation and was still working on the Los Angeles activity, but that” there are contingency plans in the event a change in place is necessary.”
In the past, the club has moved some activities to natural locations. The New Orleans Saints moved a regular season game between the Chargers and Miami Dolphins to Arizona in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina caused flames to rage around San Diego, next the Bolts ‘ house. Most of their scheduled “home” games were played in San Antonio, Texas, or Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Chargers travel to Houston on Saturday for their match against the Texans, but they also play in the wild card round.
The NBA also delayed a Thursday home game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets, along with the NFL’s shift.
