The Money Game, an NIL-focused documentary series following Tiger players during the 2023–2024 school year, will be produced by Campfire Film &amp, TV, for LSU$ 1 million.
According to a backup of the agreement obtained by Sportico, the seven-figure payment is distinct from the “talent fee” that Campfire will deal with all Tigers players who will receive NIL payment. Louisiana employees, including soccer coach Brian Kelly, will directly not receive compensation from the production company for their work on the series, breaking with tradition.
The Money Game, which was co-produced by Axios Entertainment and Shaquille O’Neal’s Jersey Legends, was approved by Amazon Prime Video next month. O’Neal is a graduate of LSU. According to the documentary, “one of the most stormy and nail-biting years of college sports to date” was followed by” some of world’s most sought-after college players.”

According to the deal, Campfire” may offer a deal for each student-athlete participating in the line outlining their responsibilities and compensation for their participation.”
There will undoubtedly be some more agreements between generation companies and schools for behind-the-scenes shows about university athletes taking advantage of their publicity rights thanks to the special access and rights arrangement between LSU and Campfire.
Campfire had to travel some of the same shaky ground it is covering in its series due to the NCAA’s latest restrictions on schools ‘ involvement in athletesNIL.
In order to achieve this, the contract, which was signed in October 2023, includes a cleverly phrased show titled “minimum performer entry needs.” According to the agreement, LSU will “mutually agree” with Campfire on the athletes who will serve as “key participants,” the school “permit” the production company to conduct formal interviews with those athletes at least once, and it” will assist ( Campfire ) to cause Student Athletes to provide customary publicity/promotional services for the Series.”

According to the agreement, the company will be permitted to film players and” cause” them to “wear a audio” in order to record music for the show during team training sessions and off-campus shooting.
Kelly, gymnastics coach Jay Clark, Taylor Jacobs, the university’s interact Campaign of NIL &amp, corporate activities, and chief brand officer Cody Worsham were among the educators and administrators that LSU agreed to make available in addition to the players. Those “key subjects” would n’t get paid for taking part in the show.
The contract called for the show to be produced over an average of 16 week from July 2023 to June 2024. Campfire is permitted to video up to 20 days of off-campus travel in addition to on campus.
Louisiana has a lot of influence over how the show may be presented. The class will receive a copy of an show’s change and have at least five business days to “provide information or concerns” before it is “locked.”

Before signing with Tent, Worsham told Sportico that the institution had received presents from six to eight different production businesses over the previous two years.
In a phone interview, Worsham stated that he wanted “great economic terms, great partners, people we trusted, and someone with whom we shared the vision for the tale.” There was then an additional sense of comfort and confidence when Shaq became involved in the rear end of this. It’s a full-circle time; NIL is ingrained in what LSU does, and it all stems from Shaq. One of the first school sports to brand himself was him.
According to Worsham, the college briefly considered producing a distinct Jersey Legends display that would only feature the women’s basketball team before deciding to incorporate The Money Game into the entire production. If LSU decides to change its head, the Campfire agreement allows for the production of a women’s basketball game based on Jersey Legends.
