According to Deadline, Katie Ledecky, a four-time Olympialist, and Nick Mead, a two-time Olympic athlete, were honored as Team USA flag bearers at the 2024 Olympics ‘ closing ceremony on Sunday.
The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s news comes as Los Angeles, the host city in 2028, is set to receive the title of host city at the service on Sunday.
A number of Hollywood stars are expected to attend this portion of the ceremony, with Tom Cruise, who is said to have pre-recorded fabric in Paris this flower and is also rumored to be performing a skydiving stunt at the Stade de France location.
Ledecky, who won four medals in Paris and is now the fifth-most painted Olympian in history with 14 medals, received the flag-bearing honor with a strong performance there.
She became the next Olympic to win four consecutive silver medals in the same competition after Michael Phelps with her succeed in the 800-meter slalom in Paris.

As we wrap up our time in Paris up, Ledecky said,” I am extremely honored to signify Team USA as a symbol carrier,” according to the USOPC release.
Ledecky and Mead were chosen by the Team USA Athletes ‘ Commission, the organization’s representative body and agent.
Honey and other members of the team won the first gold medal for Team USA in people’s four paddling since the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome.
I’m incredibly proud of what I did at the Paris Games, and I’m filled with huge satisfaction, gratitude, and pleasure. I want to congratulate Paris and the whole nation of France for having such a fantastic Games. I’ll treasure these thoughts forever”, Mead said.
The closing ceremony will begin at 9 p. m. in Paris ( 3 p. m. ET ) and will be presented live on NBC and Peacock and in primetime beginning at 7 p. m. ET/PT.
