Caitlin Clark may not be joining Unsurpassed, but she does seem to have a new women’s sports walk on her plan.
One of the many metropolises vying for the 16th membership of the football league is Cincinnati, where the Indiana Fever singer is announcing his possession bid for a NWSL franchise. FC Cincinnati, which just wrapped up its MLS campaign on November 9 with a postseason defeat to New York City FC, is leading the charge. Clark’s engagement was revealed to the Cincinnati Enquirer on Thursday night.
Caitlin Clark has joined our rights group in an effort to introduce a women’s professional sports team to our city, according to Cincinnati authorities in a speech to the nearby report. She is a key player in our powerful bid to become the 16th staff in the NWSL because of her love for the game, dedication to elevating women’s sports in and around the Greater Cincinnati area, and influence as an athlete and role model for women and girls around the world.

In the ArentFox Schiff rules offices in Manhattan, bidders from Cincinnati and Denver pitched the club and its guidance in late August, according to Sportico.
The girl company may play at TCL Stadium, the$ 2.5 billion place where the MLS part has been playing since 2021, if FC Cincinnati were to win. At$ 645 million, FC Cincinnati ranks 14th in Sportico’s MLS valuations, with its worth up 14 % from 2023. In 2023, the crew earned$ 79 million in revenue, which is seventh-straight among all other clubs.
The NWSL has 14 groups, with San Jose-based Bay FC finishing its second season this drop. BOS Nation FC, the Boston company with a questionable title, is set to join in 2025 as the 15th company. Besides Cincinnati and Denver, press retailers have reported attention from regiments in Cleveland, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami and Nashville.
The average value of a team is now$ 104 million, up 57 % over the previous year, thanks to control of the sales of Angel City FC, the San Diego Wave, and the pending sale of the North Carolina Courage to Marc Lasry, according to Sportico’s NWSL franchise valuations.
In a practically unanimous decision, Clark is coming off one of the most wonderful quarterback seasons in WNBA record, leading the Fever to its first playoff appearance since 2016 and winning Rookie of the Year accolades. Her presence put the W’s viewership — which was already ascending—on a rocket ship and helped set new attendance records around the league.
Clark’s star power was also lent to the Golf Channel during a recent LPGA pro-am tournament.

After taking a few weeks off since last fall, Clark reportedly chose not to play in Breanna Stewart’s and Napheesa Collier’s new 3-on-3 hoops league, Unrivaled, which is scheduled to launch in January.
Although her participation may not guarantee that Cincinnati will get its team, Clark is just one WNBA player who has embraced women’s soccer. Angel Reese owns a stake in DC Power, a new team preparing to play in the USL Super League, while WNBA legend Sue Bird owns a minority stake in NJ/NY Gotham FC.
