With Buster Posey up at the head, the San Francisco Giants are once more similar to the Giants. As a possible Hall of Fame shortstop, he once helped them to three World Series titles from his position behind the plate.

The jury is still out on how a catcher will fare fairly well as an executive after the field.
But one thing is certain: If Posey stabilizes the clubhouse by changing his team’s roster and lures free agents to San Francisco, he’ll have restored faith.
Despite making competitive offers, the Giants were turned down by such well-known players as Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, and Shohei Ohtani under Zaidi. A lucrative agreement with Carlos Correa was terminated when his physical examination revealed a previous ankle injury just hours before the media conference announcing the deal.
The Giants have the resources to compete financially with the Dodgers, who are currently defending World Series champions. Sportico valued the Giants at$ 4.2 billion earlier this year.
The Giants already have$ 176.4 million, the ninth-most in MLB, committed to 11 players for luxury tax purposes. Posey’s certainly on a steep learning curve.

” I’m learning every day, “he said”. I don’t think you ever stop learning, even as a player. You’re always looking at ways to get better. You’re studying your peers and your co-workers. To me it’s just taking in all that information, synthesizing it and making the right decisions.
