New York City FC and Etihad Airways ‘ long-standing agreement has grown significantly.
In a 20-year agreement, the aircraft announced that it would own the labeling rights to Queens ‘ upcoming soccer-specific facility. Development of the$ 780 million place, then called Etihad Park, is slated to begin by the end of the year. The team plans to open the 25, 000-seat venue ahead of the 2027 MLS time.

Etihad Airways is a foundational partner of the company, which was officially launched in 2013 as the state’s group. Without the aid of an outside agency, the two partners brokered the New York deal. NYCFC has collaborated on sales of Legends and Klutch Sports Group for facility endorsements.
The facility was a fever dream for NYCFC up until 2024 when it discussed building it in different areas throughout the city. The league has split its plan between the Mets ‘ Citi Field in Queens and The Bronx in recent years and has played most of its home games at Yankee Stadium. The team has even played “home” game in New Jersey, Connecticut and Los Angeles.
In April, Etihad Park was suddenly approved as the core of a waited Willets Point restoration, and it will be located directly next to Citi Field. The Mets and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, which host the U.S. Open, have both a long history, but their uncannily standing has grown as a result. The venue area will also include a 650-seat public class, a hotel, and about 2,500 affordable housing units.
