A movement to review their multibillion-dollar negotiation is about to be submitted by the NCAA, power events, and prosecutors for sports represented in the House, Carter, and Hubbard competitive litigations. A small Texas DI college is fighting to not pay$ 3 million for a settlement it claims it never approved.
Last Friday, prosecutors for Houston Christian University, a class of about 2, 300 students formerly known as Houston Baptist University, filed a comment brief in support of their movements to act. HCU asserts that it was never a party to the colony and was not a named plaintiff in the case. If Wilken grants HCU’s motion to intervene, HCU would become a party in the litigation. The action might spur other schools to seek their own intervention if the settlement causes trouble for them. Many non-power conference colleges are worried about the settlement’s financial impact, particularly as the “enrollment cliff”, where the college-age population in the U.
