With a multiyear, multimillion dollar partnership with League One Volleyball ( LOVB), the biggest youth volleyball franchise in the country, and a pro women’s league launching in November, Adidas is expanding its volleyball footprint.
Adidas did dress gamers for LOVB’s annual professional time, slated to begin across six markets: Atlanta, Austin, Texas, Houston, Madison, Wis., Omaha, Neb., and Salt Lake City. The group may display some of the best players in the world, including Team USA Tokyo Olympics metal finalists Jordan Larson, Lauren Carlini, Jordyn Poulter, Justine Wong- Orantes and Chiaka Ogbogu.
This is not Adidas’s initial tennis relationship deal. The European sports clothing manufacturer entered a multiyear collaboration with 16 USA Volleyball players in 2017 that were vying for areas on the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games roster, including Carlini and Larson.
With sports ‘ type, LOVB and Adidas will work together to re-imagine the next-generation volleyball uniform and the new footwear.
” We were looking for a spouse that shared our perception and desire, and Adidas does that”, said Rosie Spaulding, COO of LOVB Pro, in a video call. ” We’re being intentional about how we build for the specific needs of people players, and they’re eager to work with our sports directly to discover actual performance insight for the upcoming winter and beyond,” said one player.
Founded in 2020, LOVB raised$ 60 million to date, including$ 35 million in Series B funding last year in a round led by Left Lane Capital. Ares Management and other people, including Lindsey Vonn, a four-time NBA All-Star, Linda Henry, Amy Schumer, a comedian, and two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker, were also supported by the square.
At the adolescent stage, the Los Angeles- based walk has over 14, 000 athletes competing in over 50 leagues across 22 states. Starting this month, Adidas will also provide clothing to find junior clubs and will expand to provide all LOVB youth athletes with custom footwear and uniforms throughout the partnership.
” ]Volleyball ] is the most participated sport at the high school level and continuing to grow”, Spaulding said. ” That’s one of the factors we started this business, knowing that membership base is substantial across the country, and there’s this huge network of sports coming away from the young level”.
Spaulding claimed that the United States has more than 38 million current and former volleyball players.
As part of the deal, LOVB and Adidas will also launch co- branded, officially licensed merchandise designed for younger players, their families and LOVB’s pro league fans.
