Carmelo Anthony will join the ownership team of a future expansion team as part of a partnership with Australia’s National Basketball League ( NBL ).

Carmelo Anthony has a talented basketball begin to put a team owner.
Anthony has made an announcement to form a partnership with Australia’s National Basketball League that will see him join the ownership staff for a potential development team. The ten-time NBA All-Star will also be the NBL’s Second Stars program’s global ambassador.
The economic terms of the deal were not released. The NBL has considered expanding internally on the Gold Coast or Sydney, where a company may compete with the Sydney Kings, though it’s not clear what development team he may possess.
Anthony, who turned 40 last year, has been occupied since as the original NBA star has turned into an investor. The former NBA scoring champ teamed up with Isos7 last year to launch a private equity firm ( Isos7 Growth Equity ) and recently launched a cannabis- focused agency ( Grand National ), among other business ventures.
Anthony’s schedule has only gotten busier as he works to promote the major men’s Australian basketball league, which has become a non-traditional route for elite prospects looking to join the NBA. Anthony joined another former and current NBA people who have invested in NBL team, including Anthony, who retired after 19 months last year. The longer roster includes Khris Middleton, John Wall, Kevin Martin, Shawn Marion, Andrew Bogut, Al Harrington and Zach Randolph.
Two-time NBA champion Kenny Smith was appointed the mind of the Next Stars People Efforts in North America two weeks after receiving the news. The Second Stars program has gained popularity as the go-to system for the team’s most coveted and draft-eligible talent. One of the global pathways to the NBA, the one-year person development initiative has produced celebrities like LaMelo Ball, the 2021 Freshman of the Year, and Charlotte Hornets guard.
Eight Next Star players have been chosen in the first round since 2018- including Melbourne native Josh Giddey and Oklahoma City ahead Ousmane Dieng- both of whom were chosen.
This month, Alex Sarr, a star from France, does represent The Future Stars program again. 1 total in the NBA document. The original Perth Wildcats ‘ great man stories the 2024 Future Stars class, the largest in club history. The NBL is owned by leader Larry Kestelman.
