At Churchill Downs on Saturday, Mystik Dan eluded Sierra Leone by a nasal in the 150th Kentucky Derby run.
Ridden by rider Brian Hernandez Jr., Mystik Dan entered with 18- to- 1 odds to win the race, while the prior- race favorite, Mike Repole- owned Fierceness, fell behind later to complete 15th among the 20 horses. Repole is then 0- 10 at Churchill Downs. Next Saturday came in third place for Ever Young, while Catching Freedom and T O Password came in third place.
According to the Associated Press, it was the closest Kentucky Derby finish since Grindstone’s succeed in 1996. The delay was called after Hernandez declared the outcome” the longest several minutes of my life” and called for review.
Mystik Dan ran the race in 2: 03.34, the Derby history remains Secretariat’s 1 second, 59.4 minute set in 1973.

The rights group for Mystik Dan includes Daniel Hamby, 4 G Racing, and Lance Gasaway, who is trained by Kenny McPeek. The horse paid$ 39.22 to win,$ 16.32 to place and$ 10 to show, per the AP.
