In honor of the 2024 NBA Finals, which started on Saturday, the clothing company partnered with the team to produce a small sample of shoes. In honor of the team’s roots, Woods especially honored New York City in its custom-designed shoes. The uppers of the shoes have the New York City skyline printed all over. Also, the distinctive Timberland boots feature a design honoring the team’s colors: an all-wheat higher, orange stitching, and an orange insulated velvet collar. For more flexibility, each player’s shirt number is included in violet lace on the back of each foot. On March 21, Timberland dropped the limited-edition “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire ” collection—a collaboration with Ghost Busters in honor of the new film and the franchise’s 40th anniversary. The New York City-inspired collection consists of two colorways: the Premium 6-inch “ Wheat Nubuck ” and the Premium 6-inch “Black Nubuck” with Camo. Both models respect the town that never sleeps. A New York City subway chart is displayed on the insole of the Wheat Nubuck design, for starters. Also, both colorways respect elements of the classic franchise. Louis Vuitton was hired by Timberland to create an exclusive series that launched during Paris Fashion Week in January prior to the Ghostbusters collaboration. The series, presented by Louis Vuitton’s existing creative director, Pharrell Williams, is a one-of-a-kind reimagining of American shoes.
