How much is a March Madness win price? In a explaining videos, Sportico explained the situation.

Every year during March Madness, 68 men’s team compete for the biggest trophy in college baseball. Additionally, they are competing for more than$ 210 million, which the NCAA distributes through a complicated solution that perplexes even those who play college sports.
In a subsequent explanation videos, Sportico broke down where the income comes from, where it goes, and answered the most important question: How much is a March Madness win really worth?
The NCAA makes about$ 1.3 billion each month, most of which is generated by March Madness, and it gives the majority of that profit back to its member organisations. Outside of organizing tournaments, there are nine different way the profit is distributed, but the biggest part by much is the money awarded for sports played during the NCAA people’s basketball game. This time, that overall is approximately$ 226 million.
The governing body distributes that money to meetings using a system known as “units,” but does not immediately distribute it to the colleges. For every championship game, including the First Four, its groups receive one “unit” for every conference’s groups that compete in the First Four. The meetings are paid in monthly fragments starting the year after the game in which the units are earned, and those units are distributed over a six-year period.
Some events do this, which the NCAA encourages, and they do. The Atlantic Coast Conference, for example, which earned the most products of any meeting between 2018 and 2023, split payments equally among its institutions. But not all are therefore equal. The West Coast Conference distributes more of its revenue to the staff that actually received the devices.
Observe until the video’s conclusion to find out how much money each March Madness victory in 2024 is fair for each conference.
